KSGR Broadcasts Vol. 25. This annual fundraising collection of live tracks from the award-winning local radio station reaches the quarter-century mark this year. Everything on disc one comes from 2017 on-air sessions recorded either at the station or at its satellite festival broadcasts, with a second disc featuring never-before-released highlights from the station’s long archives. Most of the 30 tracks are from touring acts during their stops in Austin, with top names including Ed Sheeran, the Avett Brothers, Andra Day, former Austinite Iron & Wine, and the X Ambassadors (who play the station’s 27th-anniversary show at ACL Live on Dec. 7 with Grouplove). But locals are represented as well, with songs from Spoon, Walker Lukens, Hayes Carll, Shakey Graves and Wild Child. The double-disc set is available at Waterloo Records and Austin-area H-E-B stores. Proceeds benefit the SIMS Foundation and the Seton Fund.
Gary Clark Jr., “Come Together” 12-inch vinyl (Warner Bros.). The Austin guitar great’s cover of the Beatles classic has become a radio hit, thanks in part to its tie-in with the new “Justice League” superhero blockbuster film. As a special offering for Record Store Day Black Friday this week, Clark’s label is issuing the song on 12-inch vinyl, with an extended version on the B-side. A new studio album from Clark is tentatively set for 2018. Here’s the official “Come Together” video, featuring lots of overlap with the movie:

Sour Notes, “Darkest Sour” (No Play). On their fifth album in less than 10 years (not to mention a handful of EPs and singles), Sour Notes reaffirm their status as one of Austin’s best indie bands. Drawing on elements of underground rock and himmering pop with tuches of electronica and psychedelia, frontman Jared Boulanger and his crew — Chris Page (guitar/synthesizer), Amarah Ulghani (bass) and Yola Blake (backing vocals) plus an assemblage of drummers — deliver 11 tracks that are often enchanting and consistently rewarding. Release show Nov. 24 at Hotel Vegas. Here’s the video for the track “Ride It Out”:

Strahan & the Good Neighbors, “Twilight Drifter” EP. Longtime Austin singer-songwriter Doug Srrahan, known for his previous work with the Moonhangers and Chili Cold Blood, issues his second release with the Good Neighbors, featuring guitarist Dave Biller, keyboardist Kris Wade, bassist Dave Wesselowski and drummer Jeff Sanders. Mixing country, blues, funk and other American-rooted genres, Strahan tends toward longer songs here, with only one cut under five minutes and three that run past six minutes.
