WhiteDenimAlbumCoverWhite Denim, “Stiff” (Downtown). The fate of White Denim seemed uncertain when two members brought Leon Bridges to stardom and joined his band, leaving James Petralli to pursue his side project Bop English (which released an album last year). But Petralli and bassist Steve Terebecki eventually regrouped and added drummer Jeff Olson and guitarist Jonathan Horne to record a new album with producer Ethan Johns. Still an extraordinarily tight, R&B-influenced rock ensemble, the new White Denim is more a different shade than an entirely new cut of cloth. The band played a series of pre-release pop-up shows at several small local venues over the last month, but no more Austin shows are scheduled for a while as they tour the record nationally and internationally through the spring and summer. Here’s the video for the track “Holda You (I’m Psycho)”:

The latest electronica project of the wildly creative local musician Roger Sellers is a re-branded wider release of an album he initially issued under his own name last fall. Playing April 30 at Levitation Festival. Here’s the song “Spectrolite”:
